Conditions
November is not the coldest month in the Central Tien Shan. According to our calculations, the air temperature at night will be around, – 20, – 250С
The base camp will be located on a grassy meadow, 2.5 km south of Lake Merzbacher, where the Gottfried Merzbacher scientific observatory is located. We plan to use this observatory throughout the expedition. Height above sea level – 3650 m
Alexey Dudashvili is one of the leaders of the project for the construction of this observatory in 2008–2012. Together with his German colleague from Potsdam, Hans-Ulrich Wetzel, he led the project for 5 years. Scientists were engaged in glaciological observations. But they did not study the glacial caves.
The observatory has residential containers for 2-3 people. Only 4 containers. There is also a warm kitchen, shower and 2 toilets. The observatory is illuminated with the help of electric generators, which have a power of 2.5 Kw and 6.5 Kw.
And also there is an old wooden hut for 2 people. There is also a warehouse for food and equipment.
On the territory of the observatory can accommodate several tents. The size of the territory of the observatory is 0.7 ha. The territory of the Observatory is the only grassy glade among lifeless rocks and ice.
The cash contribution of participants includes:
– Car rent,
– Food,
– The salary of the cook,
– Local mountaineer / guide (lifeguard)
– Hotel in Karakol,
– Work of porters
– Required permissions,
– Consumables: gas, gasoline, for the kitchen, for garbage, trivia for the camp, etc.
– Equipment for base camp,
– Using the Merzbacher science station,
– Medical First Aid Kit
The fee does not include:
– Hotel in Bishkek.

Insurance:
All participants must have an insurance policy.
In Kyrgyzstan, there is no public rescue service. Therefore, we can only use a private rescue service.
We have the following equipment:
1. Tents – 2 local RedFox
2. Tables, chairs,
3. Cooking utensils,
4. Dishes for participants
5. Electric generator,
A large tent (RedFox) will be used for the dining room. Tent size – 6 * 4 * 2 m or 8 * 4 * 2 m
6. Gas for the kitchen
7. Gas for heating a dining tent
8. Folding tables and chairs for temporary camps.
Technical means:
1. Radio stations 15 pcs.
2. Satellite phone,
3. Rope (new) 600 m – 10 mm and 12 mm
4. Carabiners 30 pcs.
