In November, the Tien Shan Geological Society represented its delegation at the International UNESCO Global Geoparks Network Workshop-Meeting
This workshop was held in the first Russian geopark Yangan-Tau in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The event was attended by about 100 people from 14 countries.
To date, the Interdepartmental Working Group on Geoparks has been created in Kyrgyzstan, the tasks of which include the preparation and organization of geoparks in Kyrgyzstan. Potential territories for today may be the territories on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake and the territory covering the Leilek and Batken districts in southern Kyrgyzstan.
